In February 2020, Andy faced a life-altering event when he contracted sepsis, which led to an induced coma and a three-month hospital stay. He fought through an arduous recovery, relearning how to walk and use his arms while still managing symptoms of Post Sepsis Syndrome. Soon after, Andy experienced another significant personal challenge: a messy and contested divorce. These back-to-back hardships took a toll on his mental health. However, Andy’s resilience shone through as he continued to fight.
Determined to rebuild, Andy returned to college to formalize his Spanish language skills and began offering a successful transcription gig on Fiverr. Simultaneously, he developed an online support team for a thriving print-on-demand nutraceutical company and launched his first product in four years, the well-received Declutter Your Digital Life PLR package.
Andy Mackow: A Journey of Resilience, Reinvention, and Renewal
Andy Mackow, proud father of Paul, a recent film production graduate from SAE Liverpool, was born and raised in Leicester, UK. He now resides full-time in Marbella, Spain. His professional journey began with an award-winning apprenticeship, which led to his employer sponsoring him to attend the prestigious University of Surrey, where he graduated with honours in Electronic and Electrical Engineering in 1988.
Following his academic success, Andy trained as an Army Officer in the British Army Volunteer Reserves while pursuing a career in accountancy. He went on to qualify as a Global Management Accountant, earning credentials with CIMA and CPA Australia, and is now pursuing the EA designation in the USA.
Driven by a thirst for knowledge and self-improvement, Andy diversified his skill set by studying hypnotherapy in London. After a nine-month program, he qualified as a member of the National Guild of Hypnotherapists. A polyglot fluent in English, Spanish, and Polish, Andy’s interests grew as he developed a passion for marketing. He built around 1,000 microsites—only to see them wiped out by Google’s Panda update. Despite this setback, he became a familiar face at marketing conferences, learning new skills but still seeking his true passion and purpose. Andy’s journey of self-improvement is a testament to his resilience and determination.
On Andy’s extensive journey, he has found his “why”: to survive, improve, and build a business on his terms. His mission is to show his son, Paul, that life is full of opportunities, regardless of setbacks. Having “literally died” in 2020, Andy is using the second half of 2024 as a launchpad for his comeback. He has begun creating nine new products, guided by top mentors like John Thornhill, Omar Martin, Chad Elijr, and Allesandro Zamboni. He balances his time between travelling the Far East, North and South America, India, and Europe, all while living in Spain.Andy is determined to make up for lost time and to embrace the future.
